Where it's used
Service Entrance and Main Distribution
Utility power enters at the meter and feeds the main panel. Wire size follows your approved electrical plan; most homes run a 60A or 100A main, commercial buildings much larger. We size and supply copper service entrance wire per your load calculation.
Branch Circuit Wiring
Individual circuits to lights, outlets, and equipment are sized per outlet load (15A for general, 20A for kitchen, etc.). We supply correctly sized wire so circuits do not overload.
Industrial Motor Circuits
Large motors (compressors, lifts, machinery) need oversized wire and dedicated circuits to handle inrush current. We supply motor-rated cable and conduit rated for the load.
How ordering works
Send your electrical load calculation (amp load, run length, voltage) and distribution plan. Our electrical estimator will confirm wire and conduit sizes against your electrical plan and deliver correctly sized materials.

Common questions about electrical wire & cable
What wire size do I need for a 30-amp circuit?
For a 30A branch circuit at 230V, the usual spec is 5.5 sq mm THHN copper (8.0 sq mm for long runs, like a detached kitchen or a motor load). Electricians here order by square millimeter: 2.0, 3.5, 5.5, 8.0, 14, 22, and up. Send your load and run length and we will size it.
What is the difference between copper and aluminum wire?
Copper conducts better (lower resistance), so for the same ampacity, copper wire is thinner. Aluminum is cheaper but requires larger wire and special connectors. Code allows both; copper is safer in most applications.
Can I mix copper and aluminum in the same circuit?
No. Different resistance causes heat at the connection. Choose one metal for the entire circuit. Copper is recommended.
