Pallet Trucks
A hydraulic pallet truck, often called a pallet jack, lifts a loaded pallet a few centimetres off the floor so one person can move it. The forks slide into the pallet, a hand pump raises them, and the load is wheeled where it needs to go. It is the basic materials handling tool in almost every warehouse.

Questions
About pallet trucks
What capacity do I need?
Enough for the heaviest pallet you will move, with margin. A 2.5 ton truck covers most general warehouse stock; heavier or denser goods such as steel and cement are better on a 3 ton unit. Overloading a pallet truck damages the hydraulics and makes it hard to steer.
Will it work on any pallet?
It needs a pallet the forks can enter and that is stable when lifted. Standard two-way and four-way pallets are fine. Damaged pallets, or loads sitting directly on the floor, are not, and forcing the forks under them is how people bend the frame.
What maintenance does it need?
Keep the hydraulic unit topped up and free of leaks, keep the wheels clean of debris and banding, and grease the pivots. Most pallet truck failures come from wheels seizing or the pump losing oil, both of which are avoidable.
