About led lighting
What wattage LED replaces my old bulb?
An LED produces the same light at roughly a tenth of the wattage, so a 7W to 9W LED is broadly comparable to a 60W incandescent. Wattage measures power drawn rather than light produced, so compare on the lumen figure where it is given.
Why do LED bulbs cost more up front?
Because they last many times longer and use far less power, the cost over the life of the bulb is lower even though the purchase price is higher. On a building with many fittings the difference in the electricity bill shows up quickly.
