What is the difference between a cutting disc and a grinding disc?
A cutting disc is thin and made to cut through material edge-on. A grinding disc is thicker and made to remove material with its face. Using a cutting disc for grinding is dangerous, because the thin disc can shatter under side load.
What is a flashback arrestor for?
It stops a flame travelling back up a gas hose towards the cylinder. It is a safety device on oxy-fuel cutting equipment, and it is not optional on a properly set up outfit.
Which drill bit for concrete?
A masonry bit with a carbide tip, used in a hammer drill. An ordinary twist bit will blunt almost immediately in concrete.
