Roofing & Corrugated Sheets, Cebu
GI Corrugated Roofing
Corrugated galvanized sheet is the most widely used roofing in the Philippines. The corrugations stiffen the sheet so it spans between purlins without deflecting, and the zinc coating resists corrosion. It is specified by gauge, which is the thickness of the steel, and by length.

Questions
About gi corrugated roofing
What does the gauge mean?
Gauge is the thickness of the steel, and the scale runs backwards: a lower gauge number means a thicker sheet. Gauge 24 is thicker than gauge 26. A thicker sheet resists denting, spans further between purlins, and generally lasts longer.
Which gauge should I use?
Gauge 26 is common on houses where cost matters and spans are short. Gauge 24 is the better choice for wider purlin spacing, exposed sites, or anywhere the roof will be walked on during maintenance. Coastal and high-wind locations favour the heavier sheet.
How is corrugated roofing measured and sold?
By the linear foot along the length of the sheet, in standard lengths. Because the sheet is corrugated, the width you actually cover is less than the flat width of the steel, so allow for the overlap between sheets when working out quantities.
