Where it's used

01

Precast Lifting

Precast concrete elements (beams, columns, wall panels) are lifted by rigging lugs. Slings must be rated for the element weight plus dynamic load (typically 1.5x static load). We size slings per your element weight and dimensions.

02

Crane Load Calculations

Every sling, shackle, and hook we sell carries a marked working load limit (WLL) that already includes the manufacturer's design factor over breaking strength. Pick gear so the WLL covers your load plus sling-angle effects; the manufacturer's load tables show the deratings.

03

Temporary Bracing and Formwork Rigging

Temporary shoring and bracing use chains and cables to prevent collapse during construction. Working load must exceed maximum temporary loads per code.

How ordering works

Send the load weight (in kg) and lift configuration (vertical, angled, spreader bar). We will recommend sling size and count from the manufacturers' load tables.

Common questions about rigging & lifting gear

What does the working load limit (WLL) on a sling mean?

The WLL is the maximum load the sling is rated to lift in a straight vertical pull, with the safety factor over breaking strength already built in. Never size gear from breaking strength. Angled lifts reduce capacity, so a 2-leg sling at 60 degrees carries less per leg; ask us for the manufacturer's angle table.

Can I use one sling vs four slings for a precast beam?

One sling concentrates stress and can tilt the beam. Four slings (one per corner) distribute load evenly and keep the beam level. Architect or engineer specifies rigging points; follow their plan.

How often do rigging chains need inspection?

Common practice is a visual check before every lift and a detailed inspection at least annually, following your site safety plan. Retire chain with stretched, bent, gouged, or corroded links.
